BluePoint Petroleum plc is a new company in the retail petroleum market in Albania. They entered the market by buying the business from the well-known Greek company named Hellenic Petroleum (EKO) in Albania. With more than 15 petrol stations around the country and a wide range of services in this field, BluePoint Petroleum has become a leader in the Albanian retail petroleum market.
Vatra was called to design and build a professional brand image to include naming, brand identity, corporate products and a website. The requirements of the company was to create a brand that express visually the company’s services and with the specific request to include the word “blue” in the brand name.
Considering the client’s demand and the company needs, Vatra began the project working on naming that included the required word. BluePoint is a merge of the words “blue” and “point”. The word “point” in this case is directly meaningful because the Albanian language uses the word “point” to describe a fuel station. This was a great solution because the brand name incorporates the name and content. Working and focusing on the subject Vatra was inspired by the automobile piston and used it to shape the symbol of the company, repeating harmonically the three-circled shapes in different sizes and colors. Also the circles express the point. Using the lime tree green color in two kinds of blue, the brand reflects modernism and vitality in color and shape. The brand gives a sense of velocity and movement from the different sizes of the symbol, which are balanced from the bold typeface. That was the logo version that the client liked the most and chose from among several versions offered. Dedicated corporate products, indoor-outdoor advertising and website design were also created for the company.
