ABG is a new and fast-growing company in Albania focused on the beverages industry. Their main vision and philosophy is getting together tradition and technology. Vatra was invited to be part of this project and to design a full corporate identity for Albanian Beverages Group.
The Group’s requirements were to have a modern identity, which expresses both tradition and heritage. The identity needed to communicate the strength and the vision of the board. Harmony and dynamism in shape and color should highlight the past and project the future.
Ancient shapes and symbols interwoven together on a straight point shape with bold colors were used to create a strong contemporary identity that Vatra achieved after skillful study and research work. The oak leaf was the symbol of the Goddess of Dodona, in Tomorri Mountain. Ancient literature relates gods with drinking, especially wine and the people of the area were masters of wine production. The symbol started from sketches of an oak leaf. It was finalized in a union of the leaf inside an elegant figure of an ancient amphorae. Amphorae are known to have been widely used in antiquity for perfect wine storage.
